Ofício do Procurador-Geral da Coroa José de Cupertino de Aguiar Ottolini dirigido ao Ministro da Justiça participando que um tenente-coronel espanhol, carlista, entrou em Miranda do Douro para surpreender as sentinelas, deixando fora das portas a força que trazia de Espanha, tendo sido descoberto por uma sentinela contra a qual fez fogo, ferindo-a; entretanto, outra disparou sobre o tenente-coronel, matando-o. Acrescenta que o plano era soltar os presos e sublevar os povos.
